The Switch Receives Broadcast Engineerings Excellence Award for Network Automation

April 2012—The Switch has been awarded Broadcast Engineering Magazine’s Excellence Award in the category of Network Automation, in the 11th Annual Excellence Awards.

Determined by reader’s votes, according to Broadcast Engineering Magazine, the winning facilities represent the highest quality in television, production and network technology.

In total there were seven entrants in the category of “Network Automation,” competitors included: Comcast XFINITY 3D Network, Disney/ABC Television Group, Encompass Digital Media, iN DEMAND, Viacom/MTV Networks, and Voice of America.  Runner up winner to The Switch was Disney/ABC Television Group, submitted by The Systems Group.

“We are honored to receive this award,” said Scott Beers, President and CEO of The Switch.  “Our network was designed from top to bottom with the customer in mind, it is wonderful to receive this recognition from the industry.”

A formal award will be issued during the week of NAB in Las Vegas, Nevada.
