LAS VEGAS-April 16, 2012-For the first time uncompressed HD-SDI local fiber circuits are now available in Las Vegas.  These versatile circuits are auto-sensing and compatible for uncompressed native HD, as well as SD-SDI, ASI, and SDTI transmissions.

The Switch is offering HD service in Las Vegas and Phoenix through its relationship with an established carrier who provides all local provisioning and technical support on an advanced Artel platform, which is also capable of providing 3G HD service.

The Switch is offering circuits for point-to-point and point-to-The Switch applications for local and a range of inter city transmission choices including native format HD-SDI.

As part of its network expansion from six to 27 cities, The Switch opened in Las Vegas at 112 South Sixth Street and in Phoenix at 211 West Monroe offering its services of customer controlled switching, long-haul transmission and local HD-SDI circuits at industry leading rates.

"As one of the entertainment capitals of the world, Las Vegas places a great emphasis on high production value," said Peter Hartz, Senior Vice President, Sales, West at The Switch.  "For the first time, shows that are produced in high definition will have the ability to stay in native HD across our network."

The first uncompressed HD transmission from Las Vegas will be in May from the MGM Grand with the signal routed by The Switch to a network customer in New York.

The Switch offers metro video fiber circuits in 33 states and has provided over 1250 circuits since launching the product offering in 2009.
