Local Routing / Ports

The Switch provides customer controlled video transmission services in major United States media markets and in key international locations, across 33 service locations within The United States, The United Kingdom, and Canada.
The revolutionary touch-screen web-enabled control system was first introduced in 2003 and allowed customers to directly control their own video feeds, with access to an extensive network of broadcasters, producers and institutions, on our community video routers.
In 2012, The Switch debuted its next generation control system, Switch-IT, with robust features allowing customers to schedule local and long distance transmissions as well as execute on demand switches. The choice is yours! Click here to download information on Switch-IT.
Local switching is available in any video format—including Uncompressed 3G*, Uncompressed HD-SDI, Compressed HD (JPEG2000) and 270 Mbps SDI.
A unique alternative to the traditional means of local switching; The Switch is customer controlled, provides unlimited video switching at a flat monthly rate, with no additional per switch fees and provides direct access to ICOD, The Switch’s Inter-City On Demand long-haul fiber transmission service. Our unique business model allows customers to successfully budget their transmission costs eliminating the occurrence of costly overruns.
With more than 880 active input and output ports and a 21 year history of quality and reliability, depend on The Switch for your local switching needs. *subject to local circuitry available. |
Ports
Available for as little as $800 a month. Once a local routing customer, there is no limit on local switching and no per-switch fees. This allows the customer the ability to budget this portion of their monthly transmission costs, further adding to their bottom line.
